Yes, but with the internet there are fewer undocumented in my opinion. You can find a lot of them Somewhere.

I am going to the Man Chain this summer, and I got a set of maps marked up by BWJ. In marking sites on the maps that were listed on PP, there were quite a few that Stu had not marked, and some that Stu marked but were not listed on PP. Most weren't identified on the McKenzie maps. It got me thinking...how many of you have "secret" favorite sites that are not marked on maps? I stayed at sites on Kawnipi and Saganagons last year that were unmarked, but I wouldn't make a point to go back, at least to the one on Kawnipi.

Undocumented campsites are reserved for undocumented campers.

I think many of us have favorite undocumented campsites that offer us sanctuary.

I've added probably 8 or 10 to the paddlers' database myself, that were not on there and in some cases weren't on maps.

I like taking it slow on a destination lake. You can find campsites on points or islands that are undocumented. I like camping on these sites just cleaning them up a bit. I prefer this type rather than the sites that have campers on them night after night.

There are quite a few of them on Saganagons...especially past Dead Man's Portage.

I wouldn't mind if my campsite stayed off the maps :-)

Yeah me too. Nothing worse for me than finding a site that's been worn down to dirt, not even pine duff. Grafitti on the trees, foil and eggshells in the fire pit....

Nah, give it to me unused in the last 2 years. I'll dust it off a bitand rebuild the fireplace and hope it stays off the maps.
