There a "monument" right at Twin Falls that will remind all canoeists of the danger of launching your fully loaded canoe just atop Twin Falls. It is about 18' long, has up-swept ends and sitting perpendicular in the current. In fact, it is a canoe!
Just after launching to go upstream, you need to closely hug the left bank for about 50-75 yards until you pass a large boulder and keep it to your right. Get outside that boulder and a 6 hp motor would not be enough to get you past it.
The guys that dumped that canoe a few weeks ago have a story to tell and scrapped their multi-canoe trip thereafter.
High water worked to our advantage getting to Poohbah, not sure I would want to do Poohbah Creek in low water in mid summer.

I dumped there several years ago when the water level was high. Humbling experience.

Hi All,
I am headed into Poobah via the Maligne in a few weeks. Anyone going ahead of that please let me know what the water levels look like. Last time I went through that trip the river was high and Twin Falls was raging.

North of there the water is a little higher than last year but 2016 was low. I would say that the water levels are near normal Spring levels or a little low.
