We had to "go in and pay" once...we thought we were under but didn't count correctly. Never again... |

The limit on smokeless tobacco sucks...only 5 cans per person. I use a can per day at most, but it IS a 14 day trip. But you answered my question, it IS a pain in the arse to pay duties so I'll just buy some more when I'm in Red Lake. thanks, Joe |

tumblehome: "Joe, Tom, yes, I would really like to quit the tobacco... and I actually am preparing to do just that upon my return. I don't want to ruin a trip by suffering cravings. It is hard to do. I'm actually going to WCPP so I don't think you'll be behind me. And I seriously doubt my spit is making things any dirtier than it already is, really. But if it makes you feel any better, I don't spit on the ground where I or my daughter are walking around either. Joe |

tumblehome: "I like to walk barefoot." Tom, agree with you on the tobacco stuff, but walking barefoot in camp probably isn't the best thing to be doing either. Fish hooks, slivers, stubbed toes... injuries waiting to happen. |

Any chance you could quit the snuff? I can't say enough bad things about what it does to your mouth. Sorry. I shouldn't preach. Do you spit in camp or use a bottle. I hope I don't arrive in camp after you. I like to walk barefoot. Not trying to be a dick, I'm just thinking about the hygiene. Tom |

So is it a big deal to pay import duties on alcohol and tobacco amounts over the personal exemption limits, at the border crossing? Joe |
