AmarilloJim: "Thanks for the heads up. Was planning on going there 9/21. May need to reroute."

Or put in sooner than planned. Call the office - they will probably know current condition.

Just an FYI, the gravel road to Beaverhouse Lake parking lot has several sections under water about 1 kilometer from the parking lot. Being that I'm not driving a pick up truck, we had to turn around. Our car would not make it through. There was evidence from the grass that several other vehicles had to turn around too.

Me too. Probably see you in the parking lot!

That's a serious bummer. Were you able to get into the Q at all, or was the whole trip a bust?

In 2002, we were headed to Quetico with a BH entry permit. It POURED the entire way to International Falls. The border patrol officer at the window said that she had reports of Hwy 11 being washed out. She was right. We never even made it to the Flanders turnoff before we had to turnaround.

We heard afterwards that the road into the BH parking area was washed out as well. Would have hated to have been the folks trying to head home and being stuck at the parking lot.

Like TriTodd, we drove to Ely and found a place to camp and fish for the week.

The park office sent a crew in last Thursday to remove a beaver dam. Should have confirmation on road status later this week.

Worthy of a call to Q office.

The road was good. The portage was wet! Knee high water.
