Given the timeframe and location of this entry station, I wouldn’t count on anything. Far more reliable to take the tow from Anderson on Crane Lake to Black Robe portage. Yup, it’s expensive, but you get what you pay for. By booking ahead, you may be able to combine with another group to save costs.

If the fenced parking area was locked, maybe... sad but true...

I am planning a trip into the Quetico (Mc Aree) in October. Can I access Lac La Croix by driving to the Ranger Station on the Canadian side of Lac La Croix by the Indian Reserve? Is it closed? Self Issue? Parking area open? Access open?

Im assuming it is Self Issue but open access. I have assumed before in the wilderness and been wrong. When you're wrong in the wilderness the mistake can be quite long in both time and effort.

Any help is much appreciated.
