She gave me the option to pick up my permit at Dawson Trail or in Atikokan. Then she told me they are allowing people to use their printed confirmation letter as proof of permit. On my day of entry, they'll process my permit in the office so they know we're in the park. What a pragmatic, flexible option! QPP management and staff are super! I assume that this is an invitation that needs to be offered by QPP staff. If they don't contact you, you can't just take off without your permit. It could be that the offer was extended to me because I am a past permit user, not an inexperienced first-timer. |

I can't imagine the maligne. I do not like moving water and our trip thru there was at low water and I freaked. How about the dam on pickerel? Wish quetico would put some drones up and get some photos |

Definitely Atikokan is your best choice for the permit at this time. If BH is that high that means Quetico Lake is that high which means everything is whacko high. Imagine what the Maline further south must be like. And stretches of upper sturgeon. There are going to be many very dangerous water pathways for sometime up there. I still have three weeks before I head out so not really worried. Tom |

Mocha: " Drone footage would be nice. Wonder if the dam has been topped? If that were ever to fail, what a downstream mess that would be! |
