I wonder if there's spots in the narrows that hold LT in the summer. I have no idea how deep it is through there.

I doubt it holds LT in the summer it’s only 15-30’ deep
It’s a Spring pattern
That water warms up significantly more than the rest of the lake and draws the bait in
Same thing happens on Sarah

Several days earlier we were on Rawn...how was the portage to Buckingham? We heard it was seriously flooded.

On 5/28 the outflow from Pickerel was very cold...could not have been more than 40.

Does anyone know of a source for water temperatures in parts of Quetico?

Someone posted this for BWCA, but it only has a couple of data points for Canada, out in Saskachewan if my geography is correct: https://www.weather.gov/ncrfc/LMI_WaterTemperature

Seeing all the talk about high water and currents and obstacles, I momentarily considered canceling my mid-June trip out of Beaverhouse. That did not feel right at all.

Fishing is of primary importance to this old feller, and I'd rather be targeting smallies than lakers. But I'll take what's biting! Hopefully it will be something other than bugs.
