Seems like Janice told us once that we could camp on Cache Bay the night before picking up our permit. But you would still have to pay for that night's camping.

It is common practice for us to pick up our permit the day before entry at the ranger station in Atikokan or Dawson Trail. Atikokan closes earlier (maybe 4pm) but Dawson Trail is open later in the summer ( maybe 8pm). It's always best to call to confirm the hours. Have a great trip.

I think after noon time, iirc.

If you're on the north side and Atikokan closed before you get there, I think Dawson Trail is open later into the evening.
