I paddled through the burn area in early july. Expect a lot of brush from rapid regrowth of trees after fire, as well as plenty of deadfalls as dead trees continue to falls as their roots rot. Some portages were difficult to find.

Probably not the exact area you meant but Yeh to Lonely burned in the most recent fire. They didn’t maintain that one until August. We went through July 1st and it was a nightmare! Not sure how many reroutes and downfalls we had to cut to get through. My son was through that same portage the year prior and said it was way worse this year. I’m sure that is similar on those portages that were burned and will be that way each year for a while.

August 9 maint map
As you would expect, looks like they've hit 98% of the park, with just a few remote ports to go.

Thanks for posting the link. Have you or anyone else heard recent news about the portages in the 2021 fire area? I remember reading early this summer that they were very difficult.
