How many days is your trip going to be?
check out this thread, out side of what is mentioned in that thread you could get a Pickeral permit and just make your way south, looks like about 30 miles.

Last comment I've seen (2024 on PP) on getting into cache was a 7-hour portage with perfect weather, looks like about 6+ miles double portaging.

I'm pretty sure Magicpaddler has done this. Also pretty sure it's not for the faint of heart.

Baptism creek EP is also an option out of French Lake. But you'd have to portage into and out of Cache lake. There is also a gnarly bushwack off of a logging road that gets close to the Wawiag from the east.

Eastern Saganagons and the route to Mack and through the Wawiag doesn't see as many people as it did previously since I don't believe Powell Lake Outfitters is still allowed to let people in through the east side anymore."
There have been PLO tagged canoes on Mack the past two summers.

We are wondering about driving up to Canada and somehow getting to Kawnipi from the east. I know you can get their via the Wawiag, but not sure how to get started, where to park my truck and how that would work.
With RABCs shut down, this is an option we are looking into. Just don't know how to get there. I heard you can do fly-ins into Mack but that will be out of our price range.
We have done some google searching and not finding much. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Yes, he has! He did it with another paddler from the other site that we are both on. We were just reliving at Copia this past weekend. It was epic. Send him an email if he doesn't respond to this post at some point. He can give you the logistical layout for that way in although it won't be your quickest way to get in.

We went up through the eastern part of Saganagons through Ross/Cullen/Mack/Wawiag a handful of years ago, which is a great trip. You're looking at about three days to get to Kawa bay of Kawnipi that way, although the route itself is fun as well. Eastern Saganagons and the route to Mack and through the Wawiag doesn't see as many people as it did previously since I don't believe Powell Lake Outfitters is still allowed to let people in through the east side anymore.
