quote Ausable: "OvaEasy"
+1 They are very tasty.
EDIT: I didn't look over the whole thread before answering...obviously.

Ova Easy all the way. I buy freeze-dried mushrooms, onions, peppers, tomatoes, sausage crumbles, potatoes and shredded cheese from Pak-It Gourmet for some tasty omelettes, scrambles and breakfast burritos.

We use ova-easy and add in a bag of bacon crumbles. The bacon crumbles aren't as crispy as bacon bits and taste more realistic. Together, they're a knockout breakfast.

I'll add a tenth to OvaEasy. I always hated powdered eggs but have become a convert. They're really good.

I'm obviously in the minority but the OvaEasy are subpar tasting and WAY overpriced.

We use these Powdered Eggs . $25 for 90 eggs. They mix easily and scramble up nicely for a variety of egg dishes.

What do you guys use for powdered eggs? The mountain house freeze dried stuff is pretty convenient but it is a bit expensive. I see various types of powdered and freeze dried eggs available. Some pre cooked some not. What do you guys suggest?

+7 - this is a very easy question to answer. I like mountain house for several things, but not eggs.

Bring real eggs! Easy enough to do...

We brought real eggs. For after those are gone, Ova Easy or BackPackers Pantry Denver Omelet.

Another for ovaeasy. I stock up on them through honeyville foods. The twin pack is two cans with packets in them. The single large can is the can of egg crystals. I've done that when doing a lot of tripping as once opened you need to use it. They also have other fun stuff like powdered sour cream which is good when using your ovaeasy eggs to make a tasty scramble.

I have used Ovaeasy for the past 3 trips. At home, I mixed in dried potatoes, onions, mushrooms and peppers (from Harmony House) into a zip lock bag and boiled it right in the bag. After it was done, we would mix in a little Cholula, salt or pepper to taste.
Our taste for it has steadily declined and I don't plan to take it again.
We tried Mountain House Breakfast Skillet for the first time last week, and we preferred it hands down!

OVA EASY. Everything else is crap. Well worth the extra $$$.

agree with the ova easy egg crystals if you are going for a scrambled egg type dish. if you were baking a cake where the egg was imperceptible, then any powdered egg will do.
