3-4 days would not worry me usually. Some years it is 60 and some 80 degree days. Some cooler. Dry cured will last longer. All meat we carry is pre-frozen wrapped in newspaper and blocked in a paper sack and nested in food pack in shade at basecamp. That helps. If not basecamping and paddling in the sun I would guess 3 max. Just a guess.

Depends on the type of bacon it is. If it is Dry cured bacon it can last for about 10 days unrefrigerated. Otherwise I would worry about regular store bought bacon and not trust it being unrefrigerated. The fat will go rancid in it.

How long will a package of regular bacon last on a trip once opened? I prefer it to the precooked stuff with some recipes. Thinking of an early June trip date.

No expert but a week maybe, will be messy though. I just precook bacon at home to remove the moisture/fat, not yet crisp consistancy, ziplock or vac-seal in single servings. Has lasted me on 2 week trips, as good at the end as starting.

Gratuitous plug here The bacon I love!
