+1 on the cracker barrel! Also called "fancy mac&cheese" at our house too!

BearCreek 'GrownUp 4 cheese Mac and Cheese' is also pretty good BWCA fare. Some trips I bring both the Velveeta and the BearCreek. On my Spring trip with a group of buddies we always have 'Walleye Mac' one night. Essentially we boil fish in with the pasta noodles. It was the brain child of a rainy afternoon when frying fish sounded like a pain, but we liked it so much we usually do it once a trip to give our guts a break from fried fish.

Butthead, that is darn impressive! Can you label all the packages for us? I'd like to try something like this, but generally end up bringing all kinds of food, filling up a blue barrel and a CCS food cooler bag! I could fit this in my Garcia bear canister.

Side dish!? This is our group's favorite meal. I dehydrate a pound of broccoli per box of shells and cheese and then dice up some shelf stable bacon to mix in right before serving.

We've been bringing the Velveeta and shells, a great side dish that doesn't need any milk, and unless you want some fire starter, empty the box and put in a ziplock to save on space.

with the velveeta you dont need a cheese mix , a powder milk mix- or butter and all fits in a large sandwich ziplock bag , compact and will keep you going even for a main meal !

Yes I understand but the cheese powder can also be use just with a slightly drained batch of macaroni on its own. I pack separate ingredients in my food bag like a portable pantry.
. Meats, dairy, starches, veggies, fruit, snacks, drinks, all mix and match for a meal recipe. The food show is for 10 days and packed into a single Ursack,
weighing 10 pounds including the Ursack,
I feel that's rather compact. And a lot more versatile. But it's only the way I pack, apparently not many others.
