I dehydrate a lot of our camping meals, then vacuum seal them, then freeze them until we need them. So I pull what I need from the freezer, go on a trip, and because of bad weather predictions I come home a day early, thus not using some of my food.

Can I refreeze that food?

I want to say yes because it is all dehydrated (and I don't want to waste food) and sealed, but I know in general you shouldn't refreeze foods. Does anyone really know?

I am not an expert, but I would think it would be OK from a safety standpoint. Perhaps you would lose some quality, but probably not.

I have no idea, but I'd probably check with the dehydrator companies and USDA.

Thanks TZ, I had not heard of that site before. Most say it's ok, tho not necessarily if there is much fat content. We use venison so no worries there.
