I had to share a photo of the most delectable meal we had when we were in Wabakimi a few weeks ago. They were given to us by the employee of a fish camp who lives in the area and also moose hunts on occasion (their moose population is thriving).

We were doing 9 days of dehydrated meals and having real food was like getting the hope diamond (almost). The steaks were cooked over coals and seasoned with salt and pepper. They were the best meat I've ever had. Ever. Nutty and woodsy in flavor, and completely tender.

WOW! Very generous gift. Certainly a delightful delicacy on a 9 day canoe trip.
