Many here like the Bear Creek soups, and I think someone mentioned their pasta dishes. I see they now have rice dishes as well. Heck, you could almost go with an all Bear Creek menu!

Awesome, thanks! Love that they are all just add water, the soups/chili are a staple on our menus. We're trying out the newer pastas too, some great, some just okay. After doing a little searching I found the package says "made in 10 minutes" for the new rice mixes. FYI.

We've tried three of the Bear creek pasta dishes so far, and they were all extremely disappointing. This was almost impossible to believe, because their soups are all so great. Two problems: (1) very bland to me, (2) the noodles seem to take forever to cook. On a scale of 1-10 for flavor, I'd give plain homemade spaghetti noodles with a bit of olive oil and parmesan a 6/10, and I'd give the bear creek beef stroghanoff, bear creek cheddar broccoli, and the other one I tried a 3/10. The plain homemade spaghetti also cooks faster, packs smaller, and is food somewhat closer to the way god made it vs. more of a chemistry set. As a reference, I give the Mountain House beef Stroganoff an 11 on a flavor scale of 1 to 10. But, everyone has different tastes.

Yes, they are bland indeed! I've tried the beef flavored rice. I added a pound of fried hamburger with diced up celery and onions to it, which helped alot with the taste, but it still needed more spices. Quick and easy though, which is a big plus for me, I'm sure one or two pouches will find their way into my pack next trip.
