Yep, ovaeasy is a good product. I bring cinnamon/raisin bread and mix up the ovaeasy/water then add to the baggie with the bread. I carried fresh eggs until I found ovaeasy.

Yep, have been using their eggs for about two years now. Good stuff.

Where have you all found it? I got it from Packit Gourmet

Yep. Agree. We used this for our August trip. Was very good. Added some extra cinnamon, but that's a personal taste thing.

Just tried the OvaEasy eggs for the first time on our recent trip to Crocodile Lake. Made a breakfast for 4 with Hormel Real Bacon pieces added and it was a very good meal. Got me thinking about lots of other possibilities as well. Will definitely be going on future trips with me. Available at REI too.

Now they have a French Toast Mix? I will be trying that as well.

I've been buying them in six pack lots from Amazon. Looks like they shot up in price though.

I tried some of this today, very pleasantly surprised. I hadn't had much luck with any other water-only breakfast products, this is pretty good.

They make some good products. I use Ovaeasy plain eggs for most things (baking and egg meals) and will add powdered milk to make the French toast to go with their eggs.

For me, the Ova Easy are lacking in volume.. the equivalent of two eggs isn't much in the output.

Best when added to other dried veggies like in an omelet. Or to make French Toast.

I make French toast for 2 twice in a trip. One 1lb loaf of pepperidge farm swirl type bread is enough for 4 servings of French toast, it is 16 slices plus 2 ends if I remember right. What I've found is to look for the 1lb loaf, its key, most specialty type breads are now shrinking in size & weight. That said, cinnamon raisin swirl, cinnamon swirl, blueberry swirl, there is even a French toast swirl. I never use hard plastic or Tupperware to protect the bread, it goes as is on top of the barrel.

Been using the French toast mix from Cache Lake for a few years now.

Use bread. Just put it in a Tupperware bread saver or some other type of Tupperware type container so it doesn't get squished.

Look for French toast flavored bagels. Easier than making the real thing. We don't take bread anymore....just different flavored bagels and soft taco shells. they take a lot of abuse,

Eggs generally have been up in price (avian flu), so this isn't surprising.

Hopefully it's a short-term issue.

I've been dehydrating eggs directly - is the Ova product substantially better?
