It would probably smell just like lutefisk at Christmas time."

That's why I nixed the idea of salmon jerky. I have been dehydrating all week and my family is getting tired of the smells permeating the house. I wanted to do a batch of ripple's tuna white bean spread but I was afraid it would drive them over the edge. I feared for the life of my dehydrator!

Anyone bring these along? Seems like a good source of fat and protein and doesn't weigh you down.

I was researching how to dehydrate smoked salmon last week and I seem to remember a site that talked about dehydrating sardines.

I would think it would likely intensify the fish factor as far as taste goes

Crown Prince used to make sardines in a foil pack. Found at Walmart & Amazon, but they have disappeared from their websites. The only options would be a can or glass jar and those are no-no's, which would have to be repackaged. It could be done, but they are refrigerate after opening, in which case they would have to be kept cold.

Don't they come in sealed tins? You would have to repackage them and I don't think they would last then.
