I asked about taking some coleslaw along on our trip into Ontario a couple of weeks ago and got some advise from our members. I cut up the cabbage, added chopped green peppers, ready made coleslaw dressing, spices, dumped the whole mess into a zip lock bag and froze it and then packed it in our soft sider along with our other frozen food. About 3-4 days into the trip it was still a little frozen but we had fish that night so I took it out before supper and let it thaw out completely. Added some onions to my son's and my share and enjoyed, nice and crispy, tasted great. FRED

You can also dehydrate coleslaw (shredded cabbage) to not have to worry about keeping it frozen or cold.

Don't forget you can take a whole head of cabbage. I've packed small heads of red cabbage a few times on a few trips.
