Hmm. I guess probably so. I couldn't get it to turn off. But, my pics seem to have turned out fairly well...I wonder if it will affect printing? Might it crop a lot out?

Example of a non-close up picture that looks nice:

looks like you have it on a panorama setting.

just let your print shop know they're pano shots when ordering prints...it might cost more?

go to your "shooting mode" menu to change it back.

Nice shot of a great subject! If the photos look good to you don't worry about them. What you see is what you get (barring the mysterious art of photo cooking)! Spend some time with the camera menu and you can discover a lot!

PS: Nola, look into, Picture size

12.0 MP (4000 × 3000)—4:3
10.7 MP (4000 × 2264)—3:2
9.0 MP (4000 × 2256)—16:9
6.0 MP (2832 × 2128)—4:3
3.1 MP (2048 × 1536)—4:3
2.2 MP (1800 × 1200)—3:2
2.1 MP (1920 × 1080)—16:9
1.2 MP (1280 × 960)—4:3

I think you have it set to 16:9, the first photo is at 4:3. bh

Did I do something weird to my camera settings? First pic: photo from same camera from 2009. Second pic: photo from this year. Why are they showing up different sizes like that? Anyone know? This is a Kodak Z980.
