It was maybe 9 am or something. Also had a polarizer and a 10 stop ND filter, hence the 6 min exposure.

Yep, it's the nikon 50mm 1.8G. "

That's what I thought. A great lens for both full frame and crop sensors. What do you recommend for ND, variable?

I don't have any variable ND's they'd probably be handy but they aren't cheap for one that is good enough for still photography. I use the lee filter system and the 10 stop filter has a learning curve. I may get the 6 stop filter b/c I can still get the desired effect but I can also still use the camera meter rather than calculating like I have to do with the 10 stop...mine is actually 10.5 stops. Here is another example, a practice shot of the swim platform across the street from my house. It was probably late morning/early afternoon and with the 10 stop filter I could still get a 53s shutter. This was between rain squalls and it was quite windy.

This was my shot, not red's, he just commented on it. It was as cold that day as it looks, about zero degrees and 20-25 mph winds whipping that water up. Love to see your similar shot if you ever get around to copying that slide.

My bad Lindylair, though I was confused about the shovel point comment( thought maybe is was some back door the locals know about. :) Half the pix I've seen of Johnson Falls are from where I took it, so I thought he was talking about the falls photo. Sorry about that.

Sevral years ago my tripping partner (gymsteele on the forum) was the Camp Host for 40 days through October and early November at Lake Shetek State Park. Unlike most Camp Hosts, he did not have any fancy trailer to stay in. This is my Big Agnes 6 man tent that he borrowed for the duration of his stay. He did have electricity available and a golf cart to tool around the park. During that 40 days he only closed the door twice for short periods of time during rainstorms.

Not your typical RV or fifth wheel trailer but pretty cozy looking.
