i used D76 and fixer packs i got at a yard sale and loaded the tank up i my dark bag,a major hassle. i got two sheets in one slot and lost them both but if you look hard the ones that worked can be seen. i have a couple holders left to develop so i'll use that old square tank. thats a box of gear from my old darkroom and i won't have any hassle with that tank in loading it up. i really need to work up a system for that canoe trip using this 4x5 so i can take as many shots as possible with just six holders. |

just trying to load the film holders in a dark bag was a major hassle. this is the 4x5 tank with a sheet of practice film in it.i have a square tank that easy to use but part of this is to see how this would work. another idea for a short photo trip is to take the bag along and reload film in camp with the shot stuff going into the light proof the film comes in. don't expect anything for a while. |

to get ready for that i have been going down to the Mississippi back waters near where i live in Mpls to get some practice.since i lost my wet dark room when i moved into the city some years i drifted away from large format and went total digital. i have a new tank for that sheet film that i have not used yet.my old square tank would still work but i want to try out a Nikor tank and see how that works but it's going to take some fooling around to learn how to load the film in the small tracks.spoiling film just shot down the street would not be a big loss. work with the hand held meter would be a good idea. so thats my winter project outside of BW sorting and packing. |
