I find 4x6 best fit for stills. Video is good at 16:9.
For printing, 4:6 is common at stores but enlargements still standardize on 3:5, 5:7 and 8:11, cropping is always needed.

if I set it at 16:9 can I still have prints made at places like target and walgreens or should I just stick with 4:3? what is your normal setting?

I leave mine at 4:3, but have been processing image files and printing at home so long I do not know what commercial processing does to them, or if they use standard size prints as 3x5 4x6 5x7 and such.
