You are way braver than I am, but I enjoy reading your adventures.

Boy, my crown land pernits cost the same as the parks I thought.

Miss Molly, I hope your emergency turned out ok. Your such a great adventurer.

Thanks for the pics. Do you ever get to the parks or do you just stay on Crown land?

How do you shop for your lakes? I use Google Earth and fish online.

Holy-moly! How long did it take to clean that critter?"

You clean yours? :) It took a while . . . even just hosing it out."

They're so noisy when they reach asphalt with all that packed clay being shucked by the tires.

Just Crown Land. I'm greedy. I want the lakes to myself.

I enjoyed reading your report. I'm sorry that it ended like it did. Maybe someday you can attempt it again.

You are an adventurer! Kudos for taking on those back roads. Do you need a permit to camp in these places? I would like to see pics if you can. Any of your buried truck? Sorry you had to cut it short in that manner. I worry about that kind of thing happening to me. Especially when I see a float plane. Thanks for the write up.

Here are couple pics of the rescue. I think I'm more of an idiot than an adventurer. There were times the ride was violent. The water wasn't a big deal. I drive through lots of water longer and deeper than that and cross streams too. It was the quality of the clay. I literally sank up to my thighs.

It wasn't all rough roads. One of my favorite lakes was right beside the road. I parked my car behind some trees 20 yards from the highway and the lake was five yards away. I was last there about eight years ago and it seemed like no one had used my campsite in all that time. I love that campsite. It's the knoll of an island with big trees for shade and a fine view. Unfortunately, I spent too much time watching the wind whip the water into froth. At least the lake was small enough for me to fish here and there.

When the red clay roads around here get wet, they are about as slick as ice, too. Pretty nasty stuff - my cousin and I buried a Jeep so deep one time, we had to crawl out the windows.

Enjoyed your misadventures by cavalier and clay; sorry they ended the way they did. I've had way too much of the hospitals/funerals thing lately. That's not fun at all. I hope you can get back out there soon.
