Very enjoyable read. Reminds me of my 20's. Just so excited to be there. Some great fishing too. Thanks for the post.

Enjoyable report. Great trip. I've been on all those lakes over the years and many of them are favorites, specially the B Chain. One of the biggest smallies I've seen in Quetico was caught between Stanton Bay and Pickerel! --Goose

Nice report! Thanks for sharing! Huge pike, very nice! Try using ZMAN ShadZ instead of flukes. Also, check your fishing regulations for keeping smallmouth in Quetico before July. You can't keep any smallmouth over 13.8 inches. Those two you kept might have been bigger than that, just wanted to make sure you don't get in trouble on future trips.

Enjoyed the trip report, I went through the same area this year at the same time in June. Fishing was fantastic, but no monster pike like that!

Great report! I’m impressed at how well you did for your first trip! Single portaging is a great way to cover more ground and spend more time fishing. And it gets easier every trip as you ween down your pack! Somehow the fishing tackle never decreases, though. If you haven’t already heard of them, check out bungee dealie bobs (BDBs) for securing fishing rods and paddles to the canoe while portaging.
