Great follow up report to the first one. Do I sense a Trip 3 in the planning? Thank you for posting your results.

Good report with some nice pics. The water was really shallow on the Bird River. Both times I was through there it was about 2 feet deeper. It really is a scenic route.

Thank you all, I appreciate the comments. I have gotten a lot of help over the years reading other's reports so its nice to potentially help someone else. Plus its nice to relive the trip in a way.
I don't really need the 'hero shots' anymore, so now once I've landed one fish (keep the streak of a musky a year since I was 12) I try to take more action pictures. You loose a few more that could have been netted, but I enjoy the screen saver pictures more than that moment of holding the fish.
SNS: Good catch, you are correct. We left St. Louis Park around 7:30am and pulled into the campground a little after 4pm with 2 gas stops. Only the last maybe 30km were gravel road (compared to 90ish going to Beresford). We have thought about coming in from Red lake, but the longer drive and time just takes away from fishing, so it depends on your priorities.
Enjoy your next adventure

Neat stuff! Had read your report on the earlier trip, so great to get the follow-up.
One note - you mention camping & starting at Beresford this time, but I suspect you mean Tulabi Falls Campground?
How long was the actual drive time? Keep thinking about the western access vs through Red Lake...

Awesome report and pictures! I was especially fond of your picture where you and your dad were 'doubled up' and the fish were side by side in the water (looked like Northerns)?

Interesting read. Are the muskies native up there?

I also like the musky action shots and the two-at-a-time pike shot made me laugh. I'm surprised they cooperated, as pike tend to be berserkers by boats.
