Our group of three from Watseka went in 37 on the 12th of June for a week. I had never gone in there before this year. We also camped on Malberg and had the lake to ourselves. Our fishing was very slow due to a full week of heavy wind. Few things equal spending time on the water. One question - do those lumbar packs interfere with your regular pack? They look like they could be helpful.

Thank you, Portage99. I finally got two comments on my trip report, compared to your 27! I thought I emailed it to you, but I could be wrong. We missed having you along, but everything went very well, weather was great, we had fun, stayed healthy, ate well and enjoyed the nature and solitude.

KarlBAnderson1, the lumbar packs work fine while carrying a portage pack or a canoe. I've been using them for about 10 years to carry personal items, phone, GPS, rain jacket, water and snacks. I also stuff the 2 1/2 gallon zip lock bag with my map and compass into it when I portage. I love the efficiency and speed of single portaging and not carrying loose crap or stuff attached to the seats or thwarts in a canoe.

Great report! I’m not sure how I missed this the first time. I just saw it. Sounds like you had a great time. I see some familiar faces in there. Wish I could have gone this time. Seems like there’s been lots of moose sightings this year.
