Nice trip. Nice fish and way to go on making the adjustment with the stinger hook.

Do you prefer the Seneca over the Souris River 18.5?

So far I think I do prefer the Seneca over the Quetico 185. It seems to run a little faster. Both seemed pretty stable in the water.

I'm wondering if I misread your trip report, nice trip by the way.

The portage from Fall to Ella Hall is inside of the BWCA so as I understand it portage wheels are illegal.

Cheers

Nice fishing too and wow, that's one heck of a sonar for a canoe! I loved the Seneca the few times we needed to rent a 3 person canoe. Plenty of capacity for 3 adults and gear but still handled well "

Yeah, It's actually part of my Livescope setup for ice fishing but figured if I have the transducer and head unit I might as well retrofit it to my canoe!

Works awesome!

Mechanical assistance is only permitted over the following: Four-Mile Portage, Fall-Newton-Pipestone and Back Bay Portages into Basswood Lake, Prairie Portage, Vermilion-Trout Lake Portage

As Duboly stated, you can use portage wheels on this portage because it is part of the four mile portage from Fall Lake to Basswood
