Enjoyed your report. I had the same thought: too short. :) Solo trips are very relaxing. I hope you get another one.

Some really nice pictures you took. Way too short wasn't it. Enjoyed the write-up. Thanks for sharing. I hope someday I can visit that spot.

I stayed at that site a few years ago. It’s a nice place to hang out for a couple days.

Welcome to the world of solo trips. Sounds like you had a great time. I'm a teacher, too, and hope to never have to repeat a year like that. I had to plan 4 BWCA trips this summer just to make an attempt at regaining my sanity and inner peace :)

Curious. Can motorboats be heard in the distance?

Nice report on what sounds like a nice trip. Your trip was just what I like to take myself - a solo back into the woods so I am by myself. As a retiree I generally take my solo trips in the spring and fall and always go during the week. And if I find a nice campsite I will base camp for few days and enjoy the solitude.

Slim EP and going to Hook is the perfect first solo trip! Great choice. I've done that route solo myself and want to go back. Thanks for the report and great pics.

I didn't hear any sounds created by humans other than the noises I made. The silence started as I left the parking lot and didn't restart until returning to the parking lot.
