Thanks for refreshing my memories. It's been 15 years since we braved that route.
Pretty sure none of our group can tackle that Sandpit portage anymore.
The Horse River was low for us too.
Kudos to you guys for making that trip.
Jeff

Gary, in July I paddled a loop from EP 23 Mudro . This is the first slideshow of yours with photos of an area that I recognized.

Your slideshows are fantastic. Please keep them coming.

Great photos/great slide show! Thank you for sharing. Brought back lots of good memories of that area! Question: what is that sheet you have on the grate and seem to be cooking/grilling on?

That's a Yoshi copper mat, sometimes found in the 'As Seen on TV' section at stores. They are very light and work well for us when toasting bread, muffins or brats. They don't like direct flame though so you'll want to keep an eye on the bed of coals.

Thanks everyone for watching!
We were surprised by the numbers of people we saw, considering we entered on October 2. Maybe since the weather and forecast was good and there were no permit requirements, there were a lot of 'spur of the moment' paddlers.
Regardless, it was a great trip! The route is highly recommended if you're able to manage the Horse River with all the portages.
