I’m caught up after watching ep 2. How coincidental for you to witness the drama on Gillis? I thought your response to that was perfect.

I also like the changed setup you made next to the lake. That was sweet. Also, good to see you got a real fishing rod/reel. I’m hoping to see you fry up a fish soon.

Another thing is I appreciate that you don’t have an itinerary or over researched campsite options. Hard to do in our over informed and easy to access society these days. You’re keepin’ the adventure real. That’s cool. I’m gonna stop researching campsites along my Quetico route in Sept. Old school baby!

Keep on paddling Shug you’ve come far from the days of crafting sunglasses out of birchbark. LOL

Your videos are always entertaining! Looks like your repair job on the yoke worked well enough. You're right...you can't get cocky in the wilderness without losing something at some point. Glad the pelican case keeps your footage safe. I appreciate your positive energy, good humor, and insights into life! Thanks for sharing your trip. :)

Drama for sure. I was part of a rescue when a friend fell down the mountain in 2016 in the Linville Gorge, NC and it made me feel much the same way that day.
As to fishing...I'm pretty half-hearted doing it. I just like casting. If I ever catch a fish maybe I'll get more excited.
My route is slightly worked out. I study routes in the area but kind of let it wander as I go. Funny you recall the birchbark sunglasses. I still have those.
Thanks for responding.

Cocky has gotten me a few times through the years. Always learning!!
Pelican case was a top addition for sure.
The yoke drama added to the fun in an odd way. Backwoods repairs..good to know you can.
Whooooo Buddy)))

Shug I enjoyed the finale and it reminded me to order an under quilt protector. Those middle of the night wind and lightening storms in a hammock can get kinda crazy. I prefer to have protection back inside the trees.

Also enjoying your soundtrack. Very different with bass riffs accompanying canoe tripping. You just might be on the verge of becoming a renaissance man. I’m looking forward to when you get a nice drum kit. You could do like McCartney and play all instruments and vocals on songs you write. I’d buy the album. “Shug and the Woo Buddy Trio”.

Keep on paddlin’ Shug.

Drums may be the one thing I'll let lay. Got no space! Full of hammock stuff.
The bass is filling me with joy as I go down the path of learning it. So of course I slip it into the videos.
That UQ protector saved me that night. I thought this may be the very first time I get a total wet UQ but all worked out in the end. I fell soundly back to sleep as the wind blew and blew.
Thankee.
