MN_Lindsey: "WOW! That is the wildest thing I've seen (portaging your canoe up that "goat" portage!) Do you have to bring your own pully system or is there one there? The ropes were there at the Goat Portage as well as a line for lowering packs and canoes. We used our carabiners to attach to the ropes and held back on the line to lower them under control and get around a tree half-way down. It was a 4-person operation. I'll be doing some repair work on my canoe this winter... it slid away on its own at the bottom. |

deerfoot: "Nice pics, brings back memories of my 2017 trip. As our trip progressed the water level continued to drop due to almost no rain. Looks like you had good water levels. Does the Billy Goat portage still have the really faded out old blue climbing rope?" There were a couple climbing ropes as well as a rope for loads and a lining control rope... all were in good shape and ready to go. We provided the carabiners. I worked the transfer point part way down the slot. I used a climbing rope as a tie-off around my belt for safety! |

Good, I imagine the park trail crew checks the Seven Sisters Area each year because it is so popular with outfitted groups. The year of my trip the park sent a trail crew down from the railroad to the Kopka from the Aldridge Creek rail stop and they continued clearing all portages to Bukimiga Lk where most groups end their trip. |

But you could tell the portages had some recent work done to keep them clear and passable. |
