Great report, thanks for sharing! Looking forward to the time I'll be able to take my boy (now 7 months old) in to the BWCA for his first trip. Nice to see all of you had such a great time!

Great read - great trip. The blue on that nice walleye is actually from certain decaying plants and algae in the water - caught walleyes through the ice that had the same blue tinge on the fins - was pretty funny when tossed on the ice, the fish would leave blue shadows along with their flip/flop prints in the snow. Checked with the Fisheries folks about the color - they're the ones who told me of the blue algae. Still pretty neat though!

A nice read! Luckily, that rain gear looks big enough to fit him next year, too. ;-)

I want to bring both my girls up with us next year, but I am kind of dreading the $ that will be spent on all those clothes...though I guess whatever I get for the big one will eventually fit the little one.

Great pic of the two "boys" with the sunset. That should make somebody's frig or framed on a desk. Good times....you're doing it right.

Nice report. I hope to take my grandson and grandaughter up sometime. But they'll have to wait until they're at least 5 before I'll attempt to tackle that.

TN Man,

My dad and I both agreed that if Evan wasn't handling things well that we would pack up and head out early. We could have made it out in one long day from Tiger Bay and that was our "plan B". I think kids belong up there, I bet your son will surprise you!

That's a wonderful report. I've been thinking about taking my god-daughter's son next year, he will be 3. Sounds like a fun trip....so far my only requirements are that Nicholas be out of diapers and understand fire and "No".

Just read your trip report. Wonderful! It was fun to look at some of your pictures as though they were old snapshots. What treasures they'll be in the future!
