G - what an experience! All I can say is . . . wow. I like the "pucker factor." I don't know if I could have continued on the way you guys did - great job! Thanks for sharing with us :)

GSP, incredible story of perseverance. I usually never wear my PFD, but this post caused me to purchase a new one that I will wear whenever I'm in the boat.

Well said, kanoes. Heck, just reading about it was a harrowing experience - in several places the story got my heart racing. I don't know what impressed me more, the strength and determination (courage, even) needed to get through it, or the engaging and funny writing style.

You guys were tough - congratulations.
For me it's not a vacation unless there is a serious chance of death or significant injury.
Well done guys.

well you definitely win the "worst thing to happen to you" thread.
glad you didn't give up on paddling after that trip, it certainly doesn't sound like the most fun.
Reading it makes me scared to go back again with a canoe. I think I'll be sticking to kayaks for a while. :)

Nice read glad you both made it out safe. Just goes to prove no matter how tough the trip or the trials are you always have some fond memories after the fact.
