Nothing better then catching fish on a fishing trip! Sounds like a great time!

This brought back memories of a trip where we joked that the mosquitoes really liked the Deet. They would land right on a spot that was sprayed with Deet which had no effect. Sometimes I wonder whether repellants actually work or theya are a wast of money.

That is a great little lake and holds alot of small and eating size walleye. Yes the portage is a little work but, it's only one. You gave alot of information but, I think the lake could take a little pressure to increase the size. Glad you had a great time.

Nice report. Very informative. Thanks for sharing your story.

Were the mosquitos bad everywhere, or just on the portage?

The mosquitoes were bad everywhere but the portage was really the worst I've experienced anywhere. The light wind was great for drifting and there were almost no bugs out on the lake but once we got back to camp and started filleting fish the breeze didn't help keep them down much. The cold nights were a blessing. All the bugs disappeared around sunset.

Yeah, it was an impressive stringer and lots of work to clean them all but truly one of the greatest feasts I've ever had.
