Thanks for the report. I got a SPOT this spring. Of course it's real purpose is for the sanity of the folks back home, so if it doesn't send the message, it's doing more harm than good. Send multiple messages a day. And watch to make absolutely sure that "sent" light is flashing.

Enjoyed your report. Too bad about the SPOT not working great. They are both a great and terrible thing to happen to the northwoods. Your set up looks pretty good. CONGRATS on the grand slam! Guess I'll be throwing that rapala in the box...

Thanks for the report. I send the spot messages to myself also and haev timed them many times and have been amazed at how long it sometimes takes for a message to be sent, even with clear skies. It has taken 20 minutes for the message to be sent. That was the worse case. So I usually let mine sit there for half an hour or so just to make sure it has had enough time to send the message. Other than that, its always worked great and I dont go without it.
