Very nice Father/Son trip! Loved the pics and that bridge hammock you have looks very comfortable. I love my Blackbird but am dying to lay in a bridge style. Your canoe is pretty cool too. Love the wood trim and color of the boat.

As for the Falls Chain, I did it last year but went against the current. I did that on purpose as coming up to falls going with the current is not my idea of a good time. Plus going against I get to experience the roar of the Falls more.

The route was very ambitious and I'm sure you'll never forget this trip. Hopefully you and your son can do many more like this.

Also, my best getaway breakfast is instant oatmeal with dried fruit mixed in, energy bar, and coffee. No mess to clean and you're off. Thanks for posting!

Thank you for taking time to report. Too much travel for me but I enjoyed being there through your TR. GREAT thing to do with your son. Sounds like you guys enjoy each other and that is the coolest part.

I also like lessons learned on trip reports. Nice report. Glad you weren't seriously injured when that tree attacked you.

great photos! i enjoyed your trip and your gear reviews.
i'm wondering how you ended up with a carp lake entry but entered the falls chain? sounds like a lovely paddle with sailing weather. fishing... it's been a dream of mine, too! but, i'm never disappointed with the scenerey and just being where i am.
almost afraid to ask.. what's a "buff"?

Boonie - The shoulder caused no trouble portaging or paddling. It was a bit uncomfortable while sleeping.

Very nice report and pictures. It's also hard for me to keep track of the day, especially on longer trips. That tree whupped you pretty good; fortunately it doesn't sound like it caused any real difficulty with paddling, portaging...? I'm glad you were able to get this trip in with your son now.
