Thanks for the report. It sounds like you might have enjoyed your first trip ;). I went from Cross Bay to Poplar the same time last Sept by the same route. You picked a couple of tougher portages - Long Island through to Omega - for your first one!
I really enjoyed my trip through that area. I didn't see people for several days in there - how about you?
I also had beautiful weather and peak fall foliage. Were the tamaracks golden when you went through there?

We didn't see anyone until we entered Omega on the second day. For awhile it felt like we where the only ones left on the planet :)
The colors where just starting to change, the Tamaracks had not started !
They should be great this week !

Sounds like a great trip! I ran that route in 07 only in reverse from yours......did you see the winter wolf den on kiska? About midway across lake on south shore about 4' above water level....

Yeah, I didn't see anyone from Cross Bay Lake the day I entered until three days later on Omega Lake.
