You will go again (2016 I predict) with your sister. I believe we need to have a good trip together to end on ! |

1st: Since we met there, were on the water most of the same time, experiencing wind, rain (down pours), hail, lightening and thunder, and white caps on some days... I just wanted you to know I'm glad you were safe. Sorry about your broken foot. It was a fantastic feeling to paddle up to our takeout and see you sitting there (well, not with the crutches!) and to know you were okay and that you waited to see if we were. I LOVE YOU! I think that the memorial you did for Freddie was outstanding. I cried when I saw the video. I loved him so much. What a true hero he was! I love that you made spoons and such (that is what he would have done). While you were doing the viking funeral, we were miles away-somewhere near moose, drinking Fred's drink and floating around in our PFD's laughing in his memory! I wish I could have been there for his son (Danny) when you did his memorial but I know I would have collapsed with tears. **My hero that slept through the bear in camps memorial!** I loved your pictures and the videos. |

This was a special trip, because the guy that carried all the knives, carried stuffs that was related to his father. This being the "boy's" first time out - I think he brought everything that his dad had from previous trips. He wore his dad's boots, his dad's Tilly, and carried his dad's (what we called a machete). We had nicknamed his father "Rambo" because of his knives and put him in charge of the bears. Which was a joke because the evening we had trouble with the bear (in 2011 on Basswood - the aggressive bear that eventually was put down), Rambo was sick and slept through the entire ordeal. We have fond memories up there. This may have been my last trip, but we never know what the future holds. Thanks for reading our report! :) - Joni |
