I am so happy you documented this trip. I was at Scouts this weekend and in tears telling this story.
You were right all along, document your trip as they are like journaling and a huge important part of your life. :)

nice work ekffazr!
i am planning a trip up through EP16 for the opener and had planned to paddle that "stream" out of oyster. perhaps we will take that detour to Agnes. good excuse to maybe stumble onto a walleye. maybe we'll be bold though and push our luck-hopefully not our canoes:) if i never return tell them to look in the "stream":)
thanks for the report!

A lovely break during this winter of our discontent. I know this route well. Campsite on Con Island, Shell Lake

Tg if the water is normal to high, that bog maze is quite passable
if its low, take the portage
I will never again go without a secondary fishing plan
I sent that orbit picture to Wrigley (they make Orbit)
waiting to see if I hear anything from them on it
don't expect to, but it would be cool

Nice report. It scared the crap out of me. :) IMHO, nothing worse than a bottomless pit of mud, although archaoelogists of the future might have a different opinion.

The report was fun to read..... a day of infamy, huh? I think we all have had a least one of those..... yours a bit more than mine. We will be paddling some of these waters starting May 31

Yes it does. I loved telling my son that is me in that picture. His eyes got big and there was much laughter.

Thanks for the report. The Orbit picture is hysterical! Too bad you didn’t have some twister tails as back-ups to the leeches.

This picture has long been a favorite of mine. It encapsulates the entire ordeal with just this one solitary image. :)
