How well did you sleep after night three when your pad went flat? What other kind of sleep arrangements did you make to keep from sleeping on rocks? You are a better man than I am. I would almost rather have a bear clean out most of my food than lose my sleeping pad...and I love to eat.

We carry seat pads, mine from REI. Light and is triple fold so not bad. My son actually used this after first night and I used his 3/4 length 3/4" thermarest (was mine pre-exped discovery) so did fine. Don't know why so many prefer a chair and not this. Easy to pull out at lunch, pads Kondos pack, good place for 12" bow saw, hatchet, and tiny folding grill in pack. And a backup sleeping pad. When not back up, I use it under my head as I sleep on my stomach with arms folded under my head.
PS: REI trail chair long - still in catalog
No fishing. (Considering it - may try fly fishing next time. Need to learn by watching how to clean fish. My last attempt was more butchering than cleaning I'm embarrassed to admit. Or I'll just catch and release.)

Sounds like a great time. I bought a dehydrator this year and yes, the pineapple, strawberries, and apples are fantastic. I put them in oatmeal.
Also - what's JMO mean? More pics would be ok too. Thanks for the report.

I use a thrift store jello mold an pie pan - total of $3to $5 - on my Dragontamer. Jiffy mixes and a lot of the just ad water muffin mixes seem right sized for our not so big mold. Mix batter, grease mold, fill, set on stove, put pie pan on, and check in 15-20 minutes and every 4-5 after. Leatherman with pliers helps. No magic. Cakes, muffins, biscuits, pizza are my usuals - want to try more breads and casseroles. I like baked mac and cheese - all crusty on top,

Sounds like you both had a great time for most of the time. Your son will never forget the fun times on the 1/2 day either.
