First off wecolme to the group. I really enjoyed your report, I have travelled through some of the lakes you guys did. I like how you put the printing on your pictures. Don't worry about the mountain goat they are a pretty tough lot and they know were the portages they like are. You take "over the shoulder" pictures better than I do looking through the camera. That's where I'm heading in May.I'll be going through Disappointment I had herd about that 80 rod portage being a ball buster, so I had planned on avoiding it

Fred,
Thanks for the kind words. This summer was my third trip and I've learned a lot each trip. I have really enjoyed reading the trip reports, both as a planning tool, and as a good way to see how everyone uses the boundary waters. So I figured I would try to share my experiences. Hopefully many more to come, maybe even some video!

Thank you! I was inspired by your solo trips. I had planned on just going to sawbill for a few days to have my first solo, which would have been minimal challenge. But reading your adventure and length of solo, encouraged me to plan a trip to Kekekabic. From what I've heard, it sound like Kekekabic is a very beautiful lake. I've also wanted to visit the Isle of Pines just to see what it would be like. So I've hired a trainer to get ready for this, taken my canoe for some walks, and practiced cooking over my campfire and Primus campstove. The best way to do what you want without compromise is to go by yourself. Thanks again and hopefully your health is well and you have many more trips and reports to share.

I see like you Smoke and I the BWCA wants us to stay healthy and more active by staying fit. It is another great gift it provides and is hard to measure.
You picked a nice area to solo Good luck.
