This was technically a "1st" for me......I thought I had seen some in Yellowstone a few years ago, but they were just too far off to positively ID. I was pretty excited over this one.

This past September My buddies and I did our annual late September trip. One of the highlights was seeing this Golden Eagle while we were making camp on Ogish one afternoon. We were on an island campsite and I heard a large bird calling overhead, I walked out on the granite point and spotted him circling overhead. I was fairly certain it wasn’t Juvie bald eagle, but just couldn’t get a good enough view to ID. I hollered at my buddy Dan to grab his camera (with a big zoom) and he took this photo. After we got home we were able to look at it on a large screen and confirm the ID.....

Very cool and to have the right equipment on hand at the right time to be able to get the photo.

Hate to rain on your parade, but I can't ascertain characteristics that clearly determine whether this is a Golden Eagle or an immature Bald Eagle. What makes you believe it's a Golden?

Here is a link with a direct comparison of under wing coloration between immature Bald and a Golden. Golden vs. immature Bald
Based on the plumage that is in OP's photo, I would say immature Bald.
Here is another article. This one also focuses on feathering of the legs which is not at all clear on OP's photo.

I agree that the photo is likely an immature bald eagle.

Phenomenal shot. Don't think I've ever seen a golden eagle before.
