Wow, that is one awesome photograph! What type of equipment were you using? We’re you elevated in some way, or was the nest just low?

Thank you! Canon R5 with 400mm lens and a 1.4 extender, effectively 560mm. The rookery is low, the viewing trail is roughly the same height as the mangrove island.

Got down to canoe the Myakka River and back country waters of Gasparilla Sound in SW Florida last month, swung by and checked out the Venice Audubon Rookery, very cool side trip if anyone’s in the area
