Already the spring bird song has begun. Black Cap Chickadees, Cardinals, and even Robins. Does this mean that spring will be early.

The Robins usually don't appear until sometime in March where I live.

Even the Starlings appear to be early this year. And I do not like them.

On a side note I had Hairy woodpeckers, Downey wood peckers, Yellow Belly woodpeckers and Flickers at my feeder this morning all competing at the same time for food at the same time.

cardinals began singing several days ago here in the twin cities, my 9 month puppy lab has never heard this before and he sat motionless listening for long periods of time. we have flocks of robins that spend the winter here along the minnesota river.

We have had Robins all winter here in Northwest Wisconsin as well. The groundhog saw his shadow in our area on Saturday but I still hope for an early migration.

This morning I had three red wing black birds at my feeder. Another sign of spring during a winter that never really was where I live.
