Attended the annual Chequamegon Bay Birding and Nature Festival this past weekend in Ashland, Wisconsin. Something we look forward to each year. Despite the late spring we were treated to numerous sightings of warblers in their brilliant breeding colors.
Birds of note included Cape May, Black-throated Blue, Black-throated Green, Blackburnian, Bay-Breasted, Canada, Black & White, and Chestnut-sided Warblers, Redstarts, Northern Parulas, Scarlet Tanagers, and Evening Grosbeaks.
The final count of species typically exceeds 170. A great three days that includes canoeing and kayak adventures as well.
