Red Polls are still hanging around with Chickadees at the feeders in the Superior North Shore Highlands. The snow is melting though...

I'm about an hour north of the twin cities and saw 15 trumpeter swans resting in the corn field yesterday, and blue birds moving into a house today.

Saw a large, high altitude, constantly changing V of what looked like White Pelicans flying over Little Canada on April 25.

I live near a 70 acre lake in the Twin Cities. It has an aerator, so there is always some open water before the normal ice melt. In the spring I keep an eye out for migrating water birds. I've learned that the hooded mergansers are always the first to arrive. Saw my first one today.
