She's been on enough trips already to know what she likes. But a year ago it was no camping at all, so this is progress. She mentioned a beach....

So excited to hear this from you! And I like Ripple's idea of having her help plan. Then she can decide what kind of camping she likes.

Beautiful! It is a great opportunity to get her learn how to do the research and planning for a trip!! Ask her-

- What would you want to see?
- Do you want to hike, canoe, drive up to a campsite?
- Do we want to swim?

She can go through the process of understanding what types of camping there is and how to organize for it.

Governor Dodge is near you and has all sorts of fun stuff to do, including a beach!

I like that park, and we're planning on camping there this weekend but probably only for one night.

She has also mentioned fishing! Does Gov. Dodge have fishing????

Yes, it does!! (just looked)

Thanks; I've been meaning to camp there for about 20 years but never have gotten around to it. Now to check schedules...

...this is my teenager who refuses to go to the BW. She clarified that she is not asking for a BW trip...but ANY camping trip is a step in the right direction, right? :)

I finally got there last summer after hearing for years how nice it is there. Its on my list of places I want to go back to and spend more time at.

Yellowstone Lake State Park was also nice but we were there for only one afternoon/night before heading up to Gov. Dodge.
