Does anyone have experience or opinions of those military skis sold on Ebay and surplus stores as backcountry/telemark skis? I am considering these as an off trail ski combined with a berwin binding.

No experience here, sorry. I imagine they are heavy, but probably offset by low price. Unless you are heading out on an expedition, you may want to try something cheap to see if it will work for you. Keep us posted.
