I comPletely agree. I will not buy the skates though. It just doesn't appeal to me. I'd rather keep using my old Normarks from the 70's before buying skates. I prefer to ski slower and enjoy the trail. Especially if that trail is in the woods. I do it for the scenery, to get back to my roots, the enjoyment of being outside and the exercise. But not for a workout.

Wow, been bouncing around this website for a year and a half and just today decided to check out the private groups thing. I see a lot of interesting ones. Pretty stoked to see this one.
Well, gotta go, headed to the Bdub in a few hours. I'll be back in December!

finally broke down and spent a small fortune on skate skis. i've been classic skiing since 1974 and always swore i would never stoop to this new fangled technique. learn to kick wax or stay home i always thought. but the reality was i was going to have a heart attack trying to keep up with my skating wife.
